Terms
Last updated 15 July 2026
These are the terms for using Sustenance. They are meant to be read. By creating an account or placing a deposit, you agree to them.
Sustenance is an early product, built and run by one person. It is honest about that. Things will change as it grows.
Who can use it
You need to be 18 or over and set the account up as a parent or guardian. You are responsible for your family's use of the app, including any accounts you create for your children.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us if you think someone else has access to it.
Deposits and subscriptions
Payments are handled by Stripe. The price is the one shown when you place a deposit or subscribe. A deposit is credited toward your first month. If you join as a founding member, you keep your founding rate for as long as your subscription stays active. Subscriptions renew until you cancel. You can cancel any time, and your access runs to the end of the period you have paid for. If a payment or deposit does not look right, email us and we will sort it out.
Your content
Everything you put into Sustenance stays yours. We do not claim ownership of it. You give us only the permission we need to store it, encrypt it, and show it back to your family so the app works. We do not use it for anything else. How we handle it is set out in our privacy page.
Fair use
Sustenance is for one family, used normally. Please don't:
- use it to break the law or to harm anyone;
- try to break, probe, or overload the service;
- upload content you do not have the right to upload;
- resell or share access outside your own family.
Availability
We work to keep Sustenance running and your data safe, but we cannot promise it will never be down or never have a fault. It is provided as it is. From time to time we may change features or take parts offline as the product develops.
Liability
We do our honest best, but Sustenance is a tool, not a guarantee. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, or for loss that we could not reasonably have expected. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. If we are ever found liable, it is capped at what you have paid us in the previous twelve months.
Ending your account
You can close your account whenever you like. We delete your data when you do, as described in the privacy page. We may suspend or close an account that is used to break these terms or to harm others, and we will tell you why where we can.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we will tell you directly before it takes effect.
Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of Ireland, and any dispute goes to the Irish courts. For anything at all, email human@sustenance.ie.
